RALLY RULES
• This is a summary of the Rally Rules in the Rally Document, of which a copy
will be given to each participating yacht.
• The Rally is neither a race nor a regatta and engines may be used as decided
by each skipper.
• In order to participate in the rally, the size of the yacht must be over
(L.O.A) 9m. The yachts that are smaller than the mentioned size will not be
accepted to the rally.
• The Rally is open only to amateur sailing and motor yachts but not to
chartered yachts or yachts with paying guests/passengers on board. Due to the on
shore arrangements which may include free hospitality and entertainment,
absolutely no charter yachts are allowed to take part in the Rally.
• Each yacht must have a minimum crew of two at all times. Participants are
bound by : The International Regulations for Preventing Collision at Sea laws
and Regulations of Turkey and the countries to be visited, the present Rally
Rules, Committee’s and / or Commodore’s sailing instructions.
Each Rally-Yacht must display the following :
• National flag of the country of registration,
• A flag of the country to be visited on the main mast starboard cross tree as a
courtesy flag,
• Rally and Sponsors’ burgees,
• Rally number.
Each Rally-Yacht must be equipped with :
• a built-in Diesel engine,
• a ready to float dinghy or life-raft,
• a built-in 5 Watt VHF radio,
• a radar reflector,
• signal flares all in reasonable working condition. The Committee may check the
Rally-Yachts in respect of the above. As a majority of participants understand
English, this will be the language during the rally for all the communications.
Private messages between yachts, not effecting the rally, may be sent in any
language.
Disclaimer :
Every yacht participating in A.Y.R. AEGEAN YACHT RALLY is sailing under the sole
responsibility of the owner/skipper and her crew. The Rally Organisation
Committee, Commodore, Group Leaders, Sponsors and Supporters, the Turkish Coast
Guard, Managements of Marinas and Port Authorities in Turkey and the countries
to be visited, any person connected with the organisation of this Rally, bear no
responsibility for any loss, damage, injury or inconvenience to any yacht, to
crew members, to third parties or other yachts.
The safety of each yacht and her entire management, including insurance, remains
the responsibility of the owner or the skipper. Yacht owners/skippers and their
crew, are participating in the Rally of their own free will and at their own
risk. Each owner/sipper is responsible for the seaworthiness and safe navigation
of his/her yacht. The decision of whether to start, continue or retire in
consideration of the meteorological conditions, present or forecast or other
conditions lies entirely with the skipper of each yacht. If retiring delaying
departure from any port, the yacht must report her action to the Group Leader or
the Rally Commodore. There will be no refund of the cost sharing fees under such
circumstances.
Rally Participation Conditions & Cost Sharing Fee :
Applications for the AYR 2010 that will take place at 18-30 July 2010 will begin
from 20th of May 2010.
Deadline for the applications is 20 th of June 2010. Participation & cost
sharing fee for AYR 2010 is 130 Euro per person. Participants that will be added
to the crew lists after the application deadline are subjected to pay 150 Euro
per person.

granting reservation and safe planning of the Rally, participants are asked to
correctly complete and send in their Entry Forms & Crew Lists to the Rally
Committee.
Entries will be officially confirmed by the Rally Committee upon receiving the
cost sharing fees and correctly completed Entry Forms & Crew Lists.
The number of the yachts that will participate in the AYR 2010 are limited up to
40 yachts.
