Over 1,500 Athletes from 30 Countries Will Run in Ayvalık, the Pearl of the Northern Aegean

Ayvalık, Balıkesir's world-famous tourism center, will host the International Ayvalık Liberation Half Marathon for the third time. Organized with the permission of the Balıkesir Governor's Office and the Turkish Athletics Federation, hosted by the Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality and the Ayvalık Municipality, and sponsored by Setur Marinas Ayvalık, the event will take place on September 13, 2025. Over 1,500 athletes from 30 countries are expected to participate in the event.

The International Ayvalık Liberation Half Marathon will be held on September 13, 2025, organized by Sedoxy Sports. The event will feature 21km half marathon, 10km, and 5km courses. Sedoxy Sports event director Onur Şentürk said the following about the race: We are delighted to be organizing the International Ayvalık Liberation Half Marathon for the third time. As in previous years, we will hold this international race during Ayvalık's liberation week. Ayvalık, the pearl of the Aegean, is a world-renowned tourist destination. In recent years, Ayvalık has also begun to stand out as a sports tourism destination. We are very happy to bring such an important event to Ayvalık."

The Ayvalık Half Marathon, organized in commemoration of the anniversary of Ayvalık's liberation and held for the third time this year, will be sponsored by Setur Marinas Ayvalık. The race, which will take place on one of Turkey's most beautiful coastal routes, is expected to attract significant interest from both professional athletes and amateur runners.
