Our carbon footprint is increasing day by day with our consumption habits, transportation preferences and increasing energy use. Technological advances are making our lives easier, while the pressure on natural resources and greenhouse gas emissions are increasing rapidly. Corporate responsibilities as well as individual awareness and sustainable choices to reverse this course are becoming evident. Among these responsibilities are transparently measuring and reporting carbon emissions and setting reduction targets.
Koç Group, the first group in Turkey to sign the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, and its companies have taken very important steps on environmental issues in the 10 years since the Paris Agreement. The recent "Verification Report" received by Setur Marinas is the most concrete example of these steps.
Setur Marinas successfully completed the verification process supervised by TÜV SÜD in line with the GHG (Greenhouse Gases) Protocol and ISO 14064-3:2019 standards in order to monitor greenhouse gas emissions more transparently and verify them in accordance with international standards. By increasing the reliability of its emission data as a result of the audit, it received the greenhouse gas declaration verification report.
This verification report is an important milestone that reinforces the commitment of Setur Marinas to achieve its environmental sustainability goals. Setur Marinas has also been internationally certified with the I-REC (International Renewable Energy Certificate), which certifies the use of renewable energy, recognizing that it has been offsetting indirect carbon emissions from electricity consumption with renewable energy sources since 2021.
