The "Blue School" project organized by TURMEPA in cooperation with the General Directorate of Primary Education of the Ministry of National Education was brought to Antalya with the support of Setur Marinas.

The sea means just summer vacations for many children. But we have a school that will show them that the sea is life itself. The "Blue School" project by TURMEPA enables every child to be friends with the sea, to familiarize themselves with, protect and love the sea.
The children are not receiving an ordinary education here; there is a little bit of sand, lots of salt and a whole lot of excitement.
You should see the things we did as part of the Blue School!
-We came together with schools on the coast.
-We provided trainings in 6 different subjects.
-We organized workshops and talked about the sea with children.
-We cleaned the coast, examined the waste and got to know the sea creatures.
While our students proudly held their "Blue Detective" titles, we enjoyed their questions full of curiosity. Who knows how many future captains, marine biologists and environmental advocates we met. We not only taught, but we also learned a lot.
The importance of the Blue School project derives from its power to raise awareness. Blue economy, sustainable coastal life and environmentally conscious generations... Each project is like an anchor cast into the future. A child's connection with the sea makes them a part of nature as they grow up. Thus, we all become part of the same dream together. You know how the saying goes: If you want to make a ripple, start small.
Setur Antalya Marina will continue reaching out to more children with projects similar to the Blue School in order to promote "maritime literacy", protect the coasts and develop sustainable marina management. This is also a kind of blue voyage and our destination is always a little bit better.
