Setur Marinas has become a prominent destination for sports branches other than sailing in the 2025 season.
When it comes to a marina, the first sport that comes to mind is sailing. When it comes to Setur Marinas, other sports now come to mind as well. One of these is marathon. This year, the 3rd International Half-Marathon Race was held in Ayvalık, under the sponsorship of Setur Marinas Ayvalık. With the participation of 1,300 runners from 24 countries, the half marathon saw talented athletes and colorful faces take to the starting line.
In the races held on September 13, athletes competed on 21K, 10K, and 5K courses. These courses consisted of extremely special routes. The athletes both ran and enjoyed Ayvalık's unique coastline, Flamingo Lake, and Devil's Feast. The athletes received their awards from Süleyman Ercan, Manager of Setur Marinas Ayvalık Marina, amid applause from the people of Ayvalık.
Setur Marinas Kaş hosted the Freediving Open Water Seniors and Masters Individual Türkiye Championship and National Team trials this year. The competition, held by the Turkish Underwater Sports Federation between July 16 and 20, was attended by 14 licensed athletes. The athletes performed in a different discipline of freediving on each day.
At the end of the competitions, our national athlete Şahika Ercümen, a world record holder, won four gold medals as champion in the fixed weight categories of monofin, rope-assisted, finless, and bi-fins. Three new Turkish records were achieved throughout the championship. One of these records was broken by Görkem Gedik, who was officially sponsored by Kaş Marina. Gedik set a new Turkish record by diving 92 meters in a single breath.
Setur Marinas, which have recently opened their doors to art and sports as well as maritime culture, will continue to be among the favorite venues of sailors, artists, and athletes alike.
