The world's first commercial sailing Ro-Ro vessel, Neoliner Origin, built by RMK Marine, made its maiden voyage.
Neoliner Origin, as its name suggests, is a unique vessel in its field. The ship, built at Tuzla Shipyard in Istanbul by RMK Marine for the French shipping company Neoline Armateurs, is the world's first commercial sail-powered Ro-Ro cargo vessel.

Featuring an innovative design from top to bottom, the Neoliner Origin is first and foremost an environmentally friendly vessel. Wind energy is its primary driving force. The goal of this design is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90% during ocean crossings and to completely eliminate sulfur oxide and nitrogen oxide emissions.
The Neoliner Origin features two carbon fiber masts, each 76 meters tall, and foldable sails made from a special material covering an area of approximately 3 thousand square meters. Thus, more propulsion power is achieved with less energy.

On the occasion of the Neoliner Origin, which has an overall length of 136 meters, a beam of 24.2 meters, and a cargo capacity of 6,300 tons, CEO of RMK Marine Utku Alanç delivers this important message: "As RMK Marine, we will continue to build ships that pioneer sustainability at sea with high-technology and innovative projects."
Launched in January this year, the vessel conducted its first sea trials in June and its second in September. She will sail on the Atlantic route on the St. Nazaire - St. Pierre - Miquelon - Halifax - Baltimore line, with a voyage duration of 28 days.

Neoliner Origin successfully completed its first commercial voyage, delivering a cargo of 315 vehicles loaded at the port of Bastia, France, to the port of Marseille in October. Now it's time for the first Atlantic crossing.
