Art on the Boat Festival Returns with the Theme “Conflict: From Knots to Connections”
We are living through one of the most fragile periods in human history. Ideas, cultures, generations, emotions, and even one’s own inner voice are often in opposition. In this intense period of global transformation, conflict is no longer felt only between countries or ideologies; it is also present in relationships, cities, around dining tables, and within the individual.
This is precisely why Art on the Boat places a powerful metaphor from the maritime world at the heart of this year’s festival.
In maritime terminology, when two boats approach one another, the situation is referred to not as a “collision” but as a “conflict.” Yet the sea is also a teacher of navigation, moving together, and building connections.
This year’s theme, “Conflict,” imagines confrontation not as an ending, but as a transformation; a shared story in which knots are turned into bonds.
On Saturday, June 20, Kalamış Marina will host a unique, day-long experience where art, gastronomy, music, lifestyle experiences, and thought-provoking encounters come together.
With its refined yet inclusive atmosphere and its approach rooted in quiet luxury, the festival will take place this year with the sponsorship of Mutlu Makarna, İştirak Şehircilik, and Vialand.
Throughout the marina, experience areas, stage performances, boat conversations, art corners, and inspiring gatherings will offer visitors a holistic experience by the sea.

Stories of Life and Transformation on Boats
One of the festival’s most distinctive experiences will be the stories of life at sea.

On board the Hercai, Captain Özcan Özverim, who has transformed the freedom of the sea into a way of life, will share the invisible bond between sailing and life.
More Than a Festival
Art on the Boat 2026 is not only a festival; this year, it aims to create a space for thought where moments of confrontation give rise to new connections.
Because sometimes, in order to find our direction, we must first move closer to one another. And perhaps the most important lesson the sea teaches us is this: every conflict, when read correctly, can become the beginning of a new bond.
