Kalamış & Fenerbahçe Marina has been hosting a quiet guest for some time now. By some time, we mean approximately a year. By guest, we mean one of us. The pet sailor who has no name yet.

There are some guests; you never know when they will come, but once they arrive, they never want to go back. Our little guest is someone just like that... We have a cat who has been visiting the building where the IT and HR departments are located not for a few months, but for almost a year, sometimes looking in through the window, sometimes waiting patiently in front of the door.
She is a tabby, her feathers are a work of art. Black and brown interspersed with creamy shades of stone-like colors give her a mysterious, yet endearing aura. Her eyes are wide and alert, as if she is aware of everything. She may not have a name, but we have already accepted her as a member of the team.
We supply her food and water as a couple friends. We thought she was pregnant when we first started feeding her. That is because she has a really soft and fluffy tummy and a big butt. Despite some time passing, she did not give birth. So, we thought to ourselves, that is just how this cutie looks!
Some people distance themselves from animals in life. But she neither harms anything nor makes a mess. Even her existence alone softens the atmosphere. Perhaps she wants a little affection and attention. Or perhaps she is just looking for the warmth of home, who knows...
If there is one thing we know, it is that things have been better in this building since she came. One of the sweetest moments of the day is when she greets us at the door in the morning. It has also become quite common for her to sneak inside in cold weather and curl up on a chair and sleep.
We think that the reason she came to us is to remind us of a truth that is often overlooked: We could all perhaps be a little bit more understanding and sharing with each other.
If a cat comes into your office, let it in. Who knows, maybe she will be your quietest and loveliest coworker. Will she not?
